This coffee is the first in our offer that was transported to Europe by sailboat.
The mode of transport by sailboat minimizes the production of CO2 gas, which in this case means 96 g of CO2 per kilogram of coffee.
In total, 1130 kg of CO2 were saved during the trip.
If we can, we would like to transport coffee in this way as much as possible, because we believe that it makes sense to protect the environment and not unnecessarily burden it, if at all possible.
You can recognize the coffee transported in this gentle way by the sticker with the sailboat motif on the bag.
Our coffee comes from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta area in northern Colombia.
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is part of the Colombian Andes and is the highest coastal mountain range in the world.
Coffee trees grow between 1200 and 1800 meters above sea level. Coffee is harvested in the area between October and December.
Thanks to the abundance of rich topsoil, which consists mainly of mineral soil of a clayey character, and relatively large annual rainfall,
This region is very suitable for growing high quality Arabica coffees.
